Reporting by WIP
Terms of service
Last updated 24 August 2026
These terms govern your use of Reporting by WIP (the “app”), a reporting app for Shopify stores built and operated by Work In Progress (“we”, “us”). By installing the app on a Shopify store you agree to them.
They sit alongside our privacy policy, which explains what the app stores and how to have it erased. Where the two documents overlap, the privacy policy governs questions about data.
What the app does
The app reads your store’s own commerce and marketing data and turns it into a monthly performance report for you. It builds a report when you install, and one for each completed month thereafter, drawing on Shopify and — where you connect them — Google Analytics, Google Search Console and Klaviyo.
Connecting any source other than Shopify is optional. Each one you connect adds its own pages to the report; each one you skip simply leaves those pages out.
Your account and your store
You must have authority to install apps on the Shopify store you install to, and to connect the third-party accounts you connect. You are responsible for what is done through your store’s admin, including by staff accounts you have granted access to.
You must be old enough to enter a contract in your jurisdiction, and you must not use the app where doing so would break the law that applies to you.
Plans, billing and cancellation
The app is offered on paid monthly plans. Prices are shown in the app and on the Shopify App Store listing, in US dollars, exclusive of any tax that may apply.
All billing runs through Shopify. Shopify presents the plan, takes your approval, charges you and appears on your existing Shopify invoice. We never see or handle your card details. Your subscription renews monthly through Shopify until it is cancelled.
Plan changes take effect immediately in both directions. Upgrading opens the additional pages on reports you already have, not only on future ones. Downgrading takes effect at once and begins a fresh billing period — it does not wait for the end of the term you have already paid for.
You can cancel at any time from the app or by uninstalling it. Cancellation stops future charges. Because charges are made by Shopify, refunds are governed by Shopify’s policies; if you believe you have been charged in error, write to us and we will look into it.
Both plans are free on Shopify development stores. Shopify shows a price of $0 and makes no charge.
Third-party services
The app connects to Shopify, and optionally to Google Analytics, Google Search Console and Klaviyo. Your use of those services is governed by your agreements with them, not by these terms.
We request read-only access, and only the access the reports need. You can revoke any connection at any time — from within the app, or from the third party’s own account settings. Revoking a connection removes the pages that depended on it from future reports.
If a third party changes, restricts or withdraws its API, the corresponding parts of the report may change or stop working. We will do what we reasonably can to adapt, but we do not control those services.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- attempt to access data belonging to another merchant, or any part of the service you have not been granted access to;
- probe, scan or test the security of the service, or interfere with its normal operation;
- resell, sublicense or redistribute the app itself, or present its reports as another product;
- use the app to break any law, or to infringe anyone’s rights.
Sharing the reports the app produces with your own team, clients, investors or advisers is expressly fine. They are your reports about your store.
Your data and ours
Your store’s data remains yours. You grant us only the permission needed to read it, process it and produce your reports, and to keep those reports available to you.
The app itself — its software, design, wording and the structure of the reports — remains ours. Nothing in these terms transfers that.
We may use aggregated, de-identified information that cannot be traced back to you or your customers to operate and improve the service. We do not sell your data, and we do not use one merchant’s data to inform another merchant’s report.
Availability and accuracy
We aim to keep the app available and its figures correct, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Reports are built from data supplied by third-party APIs, and are only as accurate and as complete as what those APIs return. Figures can be restated when a source revises its own data — refunds settle, and attribution models update after the fact.
Reports are for information. They are not accounting records, tax records or financial advice, and should not be relied on as the sole basis for a business decision. Where a figure matters, check it against the source system of record.
Disclaimers and liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, the app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill. Our total liability arising out of or relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid us for it in the twelve months before the claim arose.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations. Where that is so, the exclusions and limitations above apply only to the extent permitted, and nothing here removes a right you have that cannot be waived.
Suspension and termination
You can stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it from your Shopify admin. Uninstalling stops all processing. Shopify sends us a redaction request 48 hours later, at which point everything held for your store is erased — including your reports. If you want to keep a report, download it before you uninstall.
We may suspend or end access if these terms are breached, if required by law, or if continuing would put the service or other merchants at risk. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you first.
We may also discontinue the app. If we do, we will give reasonable notice and will not charge for a period the app is not provided in.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the app changes. The date at the top shows when they last changed. If a change materially reduces your rights we will give notice in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms; if you do not, uninstall the app.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Work In Progress is established, and the courts of that jurisdiction have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
